What are the rules for the Daniel Fast?

The Daniel Fast is a spiritual fast based on the experiences of the prophet Daniel in the Bible. Itโ€™s a partial fast that focuses on simple, whole plant foods while abstaining from indulgent or defiling foods (see Daniel 1:8-16 and Daniel 10:2-3). This means that animal-based foods, sweeteners, alcohol, caffeine, and highly processed foods are avoided during the fast. Learn more about the Daniel Fast.

What are the hours of the Daniel Fast?

The Daniel Fast is not based on specific hours of the day like intermittent fasting. Instead, itโ€™s a spiritual fast that lasts for a set number of days (usually 21 or 28 days) and involves abstaining from certain foods rather than restricting eating to certain times.

Are eggs allowed on the Daniel Fast?

No, eggs are not allowed on the Daniel Fast. Additionally, products containing eggs, such as store-bought mayonnaise, are not included in the Daniel Fast. Check out this article to learn more about eggs and the Daniel Fast.

Is coffee okay on the Daniel Fast?

No, coffee is not allowed on the Daniel Fast. Coffee, even decaffeinated coffee, has some caffeine and is not a part of the Daniel Fast. Instead, opted for a Daniel Fast-compliant Golden Latte or Pumpkin Spice Milk Latte.

Are potatoes allowed on the Daniel Fast?
