Honeydew Blackberry Mango Smoothie

Wow, this Honeydew Blackberry Mango Smoothie is tasty! All year-round, but especially during the summer, Gigi and I enjoy smoothies for breakfast. There is nothing like a refreshing smoothie to get you energized for the day ahead.

Gigi and I had a fantastic time in Atlanta recipe testing smoothies. When we were brainstorming on ideas for smoothies, we wanted to utilize fruits that we didn’t usually pair together, and boy, was this one a hit. Typically, mango is a popular ingredient for smoothies, but we love to push the boundaries. Adding honeydew and blackberries to the mango, combined with the hint of coconut from the water, gives this smoothie a unique flavor. However, I must admit that the MVP of this smoothie was the honeydew and the blackberries! It created just the right balance and taste with the mango. Honeydew may not be the first ingredient you think of when making a smoothie, but the creamy, refreshing flavor is terrific.

I call blackberries the forgotten berry because they live in the shadow of the blueberry and strawberry. Understandably so, these berries are so accessible and delicious. However, eating a diversity of berries every day is key to a healthy diet. So why not throw in some blackberries from time to time. This delicious smoothie will help you do just that! Fun fact, like all berries, blackberries are high in antioxidants which promote health and fight disease. However, blackberries have higher vitamins and minerals like calcium, folate, fiber, and potassium than standard blueberries.

Honeydew Blackberry Mango Smoothie has four key ingredients

Honeydew Blackberry Mango Smoothie

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups honeydew melon, cubed

½ cup blackberries

2 cups mango, cubed

1 cup unsweetened coconut water

Ice

Fresh mint leaves for garnish


Instructions

Put honeydew, blackberries, mango, coconut water and ice into a high speed blender and blend until smooth and creamy.  Pour into glasses and garnish with fresh mint leaves.
