What's in this weight loss smoothie

  1. Pineapple
  2. Blueberries
  3. Celery
  4. Unsweetened coconut water
  5. Hemp hearts (seeds)
  6. Lemon juice
  7. Ice or water

The pineapple is a great source of vitamin C. Blueberries provide antioxidants and beneficial compounds like anthocyanin shown to lower inflammation and boost immunity. Celery and coconut water both have blood pressure-lowering benefits. Hemp hearts (seeds) add omega 3 and omega 6 essential fatty acids to this health-promoting smoothie.

How to prepare

To make this tasty, refreshing pineapple smoothie, put all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth and creamy. Enjoy immediately or refrigerate in a sealed mason jar or cup. Drink within 24 hours. This recipe makes two servings.

Pro Tip for Meal Prep

We love to meal prep smoothies because, during the work week, it's so easy to dump the contents into a blender, add the coconut or tap (or filtered) water to the blender, and zap it.

Here are some tips for meal-prepping this smoothie: Chop the celery into smaller pieces and cut out a wedge of ¼ to ½ of a lemon. Put all ingredients into a freezer-safe bag and freeze (for up to 3 months). When you're ready to drink the smoothie, add the frozen contents to a high-powered blender, then pour in the coconut and tap/filtered water. Blend on high speed for 30 to 60 seconds or until creamy. Enjoy! It will be a perfectly frosty smoothie to grab and head out the door.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • ½ cup frozen blueberries
  • 2 celery stalks
  • 16 oz unsweetened plain coconut water
  • 1 Tbsp hemp hearts (seeds)
  • 1-2 tsp fresh lemon juice
  • ½ cup ice or tap/filtered water

Instructions

Put all ingredients into a blender and blend for 30 to 60 seconds or until smooth. Enjoy immediately or refrigerate in a mason jar or sealed container for up to 24 hours.
