This 5-minute frozen margarita mocktail is alcohol-free, gluten-free, nut-free, soy-free, and vegan! Plus, there's no added sugar. With only five key ingredients, this virgin margarita recipe is refreshingly tart, creamy, slightly sweet, and perfect for Cinco de Mayo or a cold treat on any hot summer day.

This refreshing tart treat has only 5 key ingredients
- Lime
- Orange
- Avocado
- Grapes (seedless green, frozen)
- Simple Homemade Date Syrup
You'll also need ice for blending.
How to prepare this Margarita Mocktail
Put all ingredients, plus ice, into a high-speed blender and blend until smooth and creamy. I used a Nutribullet. If the ingredients jam up, stop, and remove the container from the base. Shake the contents and then return to the blender. Add water to make it more of a drinkable consistency. Top with a pinch of lime zest for more lime flavor. Enjoy!
The sweetness comes from the frozen grapes and simple homemade date syrup. At the same time, the avocado gives this treat its creaminess. Fresh lime gives this a beautiful fresh tartness.

Frequently Asked Questions
Most recipes call for added sugar, but this recipe uses whole-plant food ingredients—specifically, fresh lime, orange, green grapes, avocado, and dates.
With less than 300 calories, this mocktail is guilt-free. Compared to other margarita recipes, this refreshing Cinco de Mayo treat has about 700 fewer calories for the same amount. You see, the ingredients in those recipes include calorie-dense alcohol, and added sugar. This version is made with whole plant foods, so it has fewer calories, more fiber, and micronutrients, like vitamins C, K, and certain B-vitamins.
Other variations of this includes adding a teaspoon of chopped jalapeno with seeds for a spicy kick, or a ¼ cup frozen strawberries for a strawberry margarita mocktail. Not a fan of creamy or want to make it low fat? Then omit the avocado.
This frozen margarita mocktail can elevate Cinco de Mayo celebrations. If you're making this for May 5th, enjoy it with Oven Baked Tortilla Chips and Salsa, a Taco Salad, or some Jalapeno Poppers. It's also an all-around great treat on a hot summer day.

Notes
- Equipment: You'll need a high speed blender. We like Vitamix and Nutribullet blenders.

Very refreshing and yummy. The avocado makes it creamy. It was like a cross between a frozen mocktail and a nice cream (or soft-serve). Great for summer!
