What you need to make this vegan BBQ sauce
- Tomato sauce
- Apple cider vinegar
- Simple Homemade Date Syrup (danielsplate.com)
- Liquid smoke
- Smoked paprika
- Garlic powder
- Black pepper
- Onion powder
- Cayenne (or crushed red pepper flakes for heat)
How to make this sauce
Put all ingredients into a medium saucepan. Whisk until well incorporated. Cook over medium-high until the sauce reaches a gentle boil. Then reduce heat to low and let simmer uncovered for 15 minutes or until the sauce slightly thickens.ย
Enjoy immediately, or let it cool to room temperature and store the sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.ย
