This fennel apple pineapple juice is refreshing and loaded with antioxidants. I have to confess—before making this juice, I had never juiced fennel before. I love it roasted, shaved thin in salads, and even in soups, but throwing it into my juicer? That was new for me. And now, I can confidently say—I’ve been missing out!

Why You’ll Love This Juice

  • Hydrating & Refreshing – Perfect for a morning boost or an afternoon pick-me-up.
  • Great for Digestion – Pineapple contains bromelain, which helps break down food. Check out the many health benefits of pineapple. Also, fennel seeds are known to soothe bloating and support gut health.
  • Loaded with Antioxidants – Pineapples and apples are packed with antioxidants that help fight inflammation and are good for heart health.

Ingredients

  1. Fennel bulb (with stalks and fronds, if desired)
  2. Apples (any variety—Fuji, Gala, or Honeycrisp work great)
  3. Pineapple (peeled and cut into chunks)
Ingredients for the juice: fennel, apples and pineapple.

Fennel has this incredible, slightly sweet, licorice-like flavor that beautifully complements the crispness of apples and the tropical sweetness of pineapple. It adds a light, herbal freshness to the juice, making it taste almost gourmet—like something you’d get at a fancy juice bar but made right in your own kitchen.

Instructions

This recipe makes four 20-ounce (590 ml) servings of fresh juice.

Tip: If you like your juice chilled, add ice cubes to the catch pitcher. It will chill the juice immediately as it's coming out of the juicer.

  1. Wash all produce thoroughly. You can leave the peels on your apples for extra nutrients.
  2. Cut the pineapple into manageable chunks, removing the tough outer skin.
  3. Trim the fennel bulb, but keep some fronds—they add even more flavor and nutrients!
  4. Run everything through your juicer, alternating between ingredients to mix the flavors well.
  5. Stir the juice and pour into glasses. Drink immediately, or store in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to 24 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does pineapple juice flush out toxins?

Pineapple is water-rich, which helps the body stay hydrated. It also has bromelain, which has been shown to be anti-inflammatory, anti-cancerous, and has other health benefits.

Can I make this juice without a juicer?

Yes! If you don’t have a juicer, you can use a high-speed blender. Blend all the ingredients with about 1 to 2 cups of water, then strain through a nut milk bag or fine-mesh sieve to remove the pulp.

Can I use frozen pineapple?

Fresh is best for juicing, but if you only have frozen pineapple, let it thaw first and then blend it with the other ingredients in a blender before straining.

Can I add other ingredients to this juice?

Absolutely! Fresh ginger would add a nice zing, lemon would brighten the flavors, and cucumber would make it even more hydrating. Feel free to experiment!

If you’ve never juiced fennel before, I highly recommend giving it a try. It would be a great addition to our pineapple cucumber ginger juice, as well as our celery apple parsley ginger juice. It adds an unexpected depth of flavor and a natural sweetness that makes this juice absolutely crave-worthy. I’ll definitely add fennel to my juices from now on!
