As the leaves turn golden and the air grows crisp, there's nothing quite like a warm, aromatic drink to embrace the essence of autumn. This pumpkin spice chai latte is a delightful blend of spicy chai and comforting pumpkin spice that will transport you to a world of cozy sweaters, crackling fires, and fall foliage. This recipe is gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, and has no additives or refined sugar.

This recipe is a caffeinated version of our pumpkin spice milk latte.

Why Pumpkin Spice Chai Latte?

The Pumpkin Spice Chai Latte is a quintessential fall beverage that combines the robust flavors of chai tea with the sweet, earthy notes of pumpkin spice. This drink is more than just a seasonal treat—it's an experience. The aromatic spices of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves meld beautifully with the bold flavors of chai, creating a symphony of taste that warms both body and soul. Whether you're a chai enthusiast or a pumpkin spice lover, this dairy-free latte will become your go-to autumn indulgence.

What's in this Fall-Favorite Latte

  1. Chai tea bag
  2. Pumpkin puree
  3. Soy milk, plain and unsweetened
  4. Pumpkin pie spice (a combination of ground cinnamon, ground ginger, ground nutmeg, ground cloves)
  5. Pure maple syrup
Ingredients for pumpkin spice chai latte: chia tea bag, soymilk, maple syrup, pumpkin pie spice, and pumpkin puree.

You can use another plain, unsweetened plant-based milk. I like the richness and healthy plant-based protein provided by soy milk.

How to prepare

Start by boiling some water in a kettle or small pot.

Put the chai tea bag into a mug and pour just enough boiling hot water to cover it (about ¼ cup should do it). Use a small spoon to keep the tea bag submerged in the hot water. Steep the tea for 5 to 7 minutes.

While the tea is steeping, add the soy milk, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and maple syrup to a small pot. Whisk to combine while heating on medium-low or medium. You want it warm or simmering but not boiling.

Remove the tea bag from the mug and squeeze out any excess water from the tea bag. Then, carefully pour the pumpkin spice latte mixture from the small pot into the mug with the chai tea and stir to combine.

For a frothy latte, take the remaining ¼ cup of soy milk and, using a frother wand or a milk frother and steamer, froth until light and foamy.

Carefully pour the remaining frothed soy milk on top of the latte, and enjoy!

Pro Tips for the Best Pumpkin Spice Chai Latte

  • Quality Ingredients: For the best flavor, use high-quality chai tea and fresh pumpkin pie spice. Adding some freshly grated cinnamon from a cinnamon stick will elevate the taste of this latte.
  • Adjust Sweetness: Tailor the sweetness to your preference by adjusting the amount of maple syrup.
  • Pumpkin Puree: Ensure you use pure pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling, which contains added sugars and spices.

Why You'll Love This Latte

Not only is this pumpkin spice chai Latte delicious, but it also offers several health benefits:

  • Antioxidants: Chai tea is rich in antioxidants, which help combat free radicals and support overall health.
  • Anti-inflammatory: The spices in chai, such as ginger and cinnamon, have anti-inflammatory properties that can aid digestion and reduce inflammation.
  • Nutrient-Rich: Pumpkin is a great source of vitamins A, potassium, and fiber, contributing to a healthy immune system and good vision. If you use soy milk, you'll add about 8 grams of healthy plant-based protein. Check out the other health benefits of soy.

Finally, you'll love this latte because it only takes about 10 minutes to make.
