This Italian Mocktail is ever so slightly sweet from the fresh strawberries and herbaceous from the fresh basil. The balsamic vinegar gives this drink a hint of sourness. The sparkling water and ice make this healthy, low-calorie mocktail refreshing. This Italian Mocktail is an elevated version of the "Healthy Coke" that went viral on TikTok in the summer of 2022. This sugar-free mocktail is perfect for date night, girls' night, or any time you want an adult beverage sans the alcohol.

Ingredients for this low-calorie mocktail

  1. Strawberries
  2. Fresh basil
  3. Balsamic vinegar
  4. Sparkling water
  5. Ice

How to make this Italian sugar-free mocktail

This first step is totally optional. If you want to be fancy about it, thinly slice a few strawberries or fresh basil and add them to an ice cube tray. Fill it with water and let it freeze.

3. optional: freeze until solid

The main steps to make this drink

Take a fresh strawberry and one to two fresh basil leaves and place them in the bottom of a 12-ounce glass. Carefully muddle the fresh strawberry and basil until mashed.

Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of balsamic vinegar to the glass.

Add ice—regular or the optional fancy cubes you made—and carefully pour sparkling water over the ice.

Stir and enjoy!

Ditch the soda and booze and enjoy this refreshing mocktail for the holidays, at the next family gathering or girls' night get-together. While there's a very slight sweetness from the strawberries and balsamic vinegar, this is not a "sweet" drink. Also, with only 15 calories per glass, it's easy on the waistline.
