Hi, we’re Sersie Blue (left) and Gigi Carter (right), the duo behind Daniel’s Plate. Every decision we make about the delicious recipes you see here is rooted in health first. We focus on whole, plant-based foods that help restore health, prevent chronic illness, and empower you to live out your divine purpose with excellence.

Our mission is to inspire you to treat food as an act of reverence, a sacred, healing, and flavorful experience that fuels both your body and your calling.
A Little More About Us
Gigi Carter
With a passion for all things wellness, Gigi finds purpose in helping people rise to new levels of health and lifestyle excellence. She holds a Master’s in Nutrition Sciences from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, is a licensed Nutritionist in Washington, a Diplomate and Certified Lifestyle Medicine Professional through the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, and holds a certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition from eCornell. Gigi is the author of The Plant-Based Workplace, where she’s been featured in Forbes, The New York Times Opinion, Vegconomist, GreenBiz, and the University of Alabama School of Health Professions. She's also co-author of The Spinach in My Teeth and Daniel Fast: Why You Should Only Do It Once.
Sersie Blue
Sersie is a health coach, podcaster, and speaker who found healing through the Daniel Fast after a personal health crisis. She holds a Bachelor’s in Communications from the University of Windsor and a Master of Divinity in Counseling from Tyndale College & Seminary. She completed the Health Coach program through Wellcoaches at the University of North Florida. She is co-author of Daniel Fast: Why You Should Only Do It Once and host of the Healthy for My Purpose podcast.
Why the Name Daniel’s Plate?
We chose the name Daniel’s Plate as a tribute to the biblical prophet Daniel, who honored God by choosing plant-based foods over the indulgent offerings of the king’s table. His commitment resulted in greater strength, wisdom, and clarity, things we believe you’ll experience when you eat plants and align your eating with your values.
What’s the Message Behind Our Tagline?
You’ll see the phrase "Nourish your body. Honor your faith. Live with purpose." throughout our site. It’s more than a tagline, it’s the heartbeat of our mission. We believe your health journey is spiritual. When you fuel your body with whole plant foods, you create space to step fully into your God-given assignment. 🌱 Sersie’s name is inspired by Cersesay, a healing plant from Jamaica. A fitting symbol of her wellness journey.
🚴♀️ Gigi started bike racing at age 42 after switching to a plant-based lifestyle, proving it’s never too late to thrive.
🥗 We’ve created hundreds of recipes but still get excited discovering new flavors that nourish body and soul.

Not at all! While many of our recipes are Daniel Fast-friendly, Daniel’s Plate is for anyone seeking a whole-food, plant-based lifestyle.
Yes. Every recipe is 100% whole-food, plant-based, and free from animal products and artificial ingredients.
Most of our recipes are compliant with the fast, free from sweeteners, caffeine, and leavening, but we also offer a wide variety of whole-food, plant-based recipes for those not currently doing the fast.
Absolutely. Our recipes are simple, flavorful, and beginner-friendly, with easy-to-find ingredients and step-by-step instructions.
Yes! Through our Healthy for My Purpose platform, we offer faith-based wellness programs, like our Healthy Christian Woman Bootcamp, and coaching to help you apply these principles in your everyday life.
