Description
This Vegan BBQ Sauce is sweet and smoky. The cayenne gives this sauce the perfect amount of heat. It's gluten-free, oil-free, soy-free, and nut-free, and there's no added sugar.
Ingredients
- 1 15-oz can tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 3/4 cup Simple Homemade Date Syrup
- 3 Tbsp coconut aminos
- 1 1/2 tsp liquid smoke
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper (or crushed red pepper flakes) for heat
Instructions
Put all ingredients into a medium saucepan. Whisk until well incorporated. Cook over medium-high until the sauce reaches a gentle boil. Then reduce heat to low and let simmer uncovered for 15 minutes or until the sauce slightly thickens.Â
Enjoy immediately, or let it cool to room temperature and store the sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.Â
