These tasty roasted chickpeas are one of our favorite healthy snacks. Packed with flavor and protein, this recipe is oil-free, gluten-free, and vegan. 


Units Scale
  • 1 15 oz. can chickpeas, rinsed and drained well
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder


  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (205°C).
  2. Drain and rinse a can of chickpeas (garbanzo beans). Remove as much excess water as possible—this helps them crisp up while roasting.
  3. Add chickpeas and fresh lemon juice to a mixing bowl.
  4. Combine spices and toss with chickpeas.
  5. Spread chickpeas evenly onto a silicone mat or parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake for *30 to 40 minutes, until crispy. *Note: ovens vary, so check your chickpeas about 25 minutes after putting them in the oven.
  7. When chickpeas are roasted and crispy, remove them from the oven and let them cool to room temperature—salt and pepper to taste.

Enjoy this healthy protein-packed snack within two days of making it.
