I’m excited to share a refreshing juice recipe that not only bursts with flavor but is also a nutritional winner: Pineapple Purple Cabbage Juice. This vibrant drink is a fantastic way to incorporate more fruit and vegetables into your diet while enjoying a hydrating, antioxidant-rich beverage.
1whole medium pineappleabout 5 cups of pineapple chunks
½head medium purple cabbageabout 1 pound or 450 grams
1-to 3-inchpiece of fresh ginger rootoptional for a spicy kick
1lemon or limeoptional for a citrus boost
Instructions
Start by peeling and chopping the pineapple into manageable chunks. Cut the purple cabbage into smaller pieces, making it easier for the juicer or blender.
Using a Juicer: Feed the pineapple chunks and purple cabbage through the juicer, alternating between the two for a well-mixed juice.
Using a Blender: Combine the pineapple and cabbage in the blender with a splash of water. Blend until smooth. Then, strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a pitcher to separate the juice from the pulp.
For a Spicy Kick (Optional): Add a 1-to 3-inch piece of fresh ginger root.
Add Citrus (Optional): For a refreshing twist, add a lime or lemon to the juicer to enhance the flavors.
Serve: Pour the juice into glasses and serve immediately for the freshest taste. You can also chill it in the refrigerator for a short time before serving or add ice.
Fresh juice keeps well in an airtight container for up to 24 hours.
