This banana milk matcha latte is the perfect blend of creamy, sweet banana milk and earthy, antioxidant-rich matcha. This recipe is gluten-free, soy-free and vegan.
Ingredients
- 1/2 ripe banana
- 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of matcha green tea powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of pure maple syrup
- 1 cup plain, unsweetened almond milk (or other plant-based milk)
- 1/16 teaspoon of vanilla powder (or 1/2 teaspoon alcohol-free vanilla extract)
- ice
Instructions
1. Make the Banana Milk
In a mini-blender, combine the ripe banana, almond milk, maple syrup, and vanilla powder (or alcohol-free vanilla extract). Blend until smooth and creamy. This banana milk serves as the base for your latte, providing natural sweetness and a rich texture. Pour about 75% of the banana milk into a glass with ice.
2. Prepare the Matcha
Add the matcha powder to the remaining banana milk in the mini-blender. Blend until smooth and creamy.
3. Combine the Banana Milk and Matcha
Pour the matcha mixture into the glass with the banana milk and ice. It's fun to have the matcha on top and banana milk on the bottom. If you don't like the separation, feel free to stir to combine.
4. Serve and Enjoy
Your vegan banana milk matcha latte is ready to enjoy! Sip it slowly and savor the creamy, sweet, and earthy flavors. If you want to gussy it up, top the banana milk latte with sliced banana, a dusting of more matcha powder, and sprinkle some crushed walnuts or hemp hearts for an omega 3 boost.
